@walesbotanic has a list of the top 10 spring flowers for honey bees. Of these, 8 are #ForestGarden stalwarts:

  3. Cotoneaster (e.g Cotoneaster horizontalis)
  4. Apple and cherry trees (Malus and Prunus species)

  6. Sycamore and other Acer species
  7. Hellebores (Helleborus species)
  8. Dandelions (Taraxacum officinale)
  9. Holly (Ilex species)
  10. Oak (Quercus species)

And you can always plant cotoneaster and hellebores as “system plants” to attract pollinators, so I make that 1010 😉

It will be really interesting to see results for different times of the year and for wild pollinators like hoverfly.
